Dr. Edgar Mendieta received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA and went to dental school at the University of the Pacific, in San Francisco. After practicing general dentistry, Dr. Mendieta became an orthodontist upon completion of an orthodontic speciality program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dr. Mendieta is president of the Cleveland Society of Orthodontists, was selected to participate in the ADA Institute for Diversity in Leadership, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Minich attended Miami University for college and earned his B.A. in Zoology. He went to The Ohio State University for dental school earning his D.D.S, and finally to St. Louis University where he received his M.S.D. and certificate in Orthodontics. Dr. Minich currently lives in Chagrin Falls, OH with his wife, Lori, and their 3 children Maddie, Grant and Gavin. He has orthodontic practices in Chagrin Falls and Mentor, Ohio. He has been on the board for the CSO since 2015.

Dr. Manish Valiathan (B.D.S, M.D.S, D.D.S, M.S.D.) received his dental and specialty training in Orthodontics from the College of Dental Surgery, Manipal the number 1 ranked Dental College in India. He joined Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, where he retrained and graduated from the School of Dental Medicine (D.D.S) and the Orthodontic program (M.S.D). He joined the faculty of the Department of Orthodontics shortly thereafter. A tenured Associate Professor, Dr. Valiathan holds joint appointments in the departments of Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry and Plastic Surgery in the school of Medicine.
He is the founding Program Director of the first University based Craniofacial Orthodontic Fellowship Program in the United States. He is a Senior Associate of the Bolton Brush Growth Study Center and an active member of the Craniofacial Biology Research group at Case. His research focus is on post orthodontic changes, craniofacial growth and craniofacial clinical outcomes. His work has received two Awards form the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation. He serves on the editorial review panel for several journals including the AJODO and Angle Orthodontist. With multiple text book chapters and peer reviewed publications, Dr. Valiathan has lectured nationally and internationally on a variety of orthodontic topics. Dr. Valiathan also maintains his private practice in Macedonia, a suburb of Cleveland.

Dr. Spoonhower sets the highest standards of excellence in orthodontics for over thirteen years. He received his doctorate in dentistry degree after four years of training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated first in his class at Case and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society. He was honored with academic achievement awards from the American Association of Orthodontists, Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity and the International College of Dentists. He then completed two-and-a-half years of specialty training in orthodontics at Case Western Reserve University, graduating with a master's degree in dentistry.
An esteemed member of the orthodontic community, Dr. Spoonhower is an active member in many leading dental and orthodontic organizations, including: American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, Ohio Dental Association, Akron Dental Society, and Stark County Dental Society. As a dental mission volunteer, he donates his time and efforts to St. Jude’s Hospital in St. Lucia. He and his staff also participate in an exclusive study club with practices from all over the eastern United States.
In his spare time, Dr. Spoonhower is an active member of the Green community - donating to various local charities and working with the school district. He enjoys running, swimming, biking and hanging with his wife and two children - usually at a soccer field.

Dr. Felix Gen graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He completed an advanced education residency at State University of New York at Buffalo and received both a Master of Science degree and Certificate of Proficiency in orthodontics. He has been the recipient of many awards and honors and currently holds membership at the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Society of Orthodontists, Cleveland Society of Orthodontists, Greater Cleveland Dental Society, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. He currently serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the Case Western Reserve University Orthodontic Department.

Ryan earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, and his DDS from The Ohio State University in 1996. Following dental school, Ryan completed a Masters of Science in Dentistry from Case Western Reserve University in Orthodontics. His thesis evaluated the effects of a bonded expander and protraction facemask on class III patients in the mixed dentition.
Ryan has been an assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University Department of Orthodontics since 2004. He is a past president of the Cleveland Society of Orthodontists and a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, the ADA and the Greater Cleveland Dental Society. Ryan has been in private practice in Mayfield Heights since 1998.
